Purplecones, LLC ("we," "our," or "us") operates Novu, an AI-powered interior design visualization application. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, and safeguard your information when you use our mobile application.

Please read this Privacy Policy carefully. By using Novu, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.

Information We Collect

Account Information

When you create an account, we collect:

  • Email address
  • Password (encrypted)

User Content

When you use our services, we collect:

  • Photos you upload
  • AI-generated design transformations
  • Your saved spaces and design preferences

Automatically Collected Information

We may automatically collect certain information, including:

  • Device type and operating system
  • App usage patterns and features accessed
  • Error logs and performance data

How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

  • Provide and maintain the Novu application
  • Process your photos through AI to generate design visualizations
  • Store and display your saved spaces and generated images
  • Authenticate your account and ensure security
  • Respond to your inquiries and provide customer support
  • Improve and optimize our application
  • Comply with legal obligations

Featured Content

AI-generated design images created through Novu may be featured within the app for other users to view as inspiration. This helps our community discover design ideas and styles.

When content is featured:

  • Only AI-generated design images may be featured, not your original photos
  • Featured content is displayed anonymously without identifying information
  • You can contact us to request removal of specific featured content

By using Novu, you grant us the right to feature AI-generated images from your account within the application. You can opt out of having your images featured at any time through the Settings screen in the app. When you opt out:

  • Your AI-generated images will no longer appear in the featured gallery or style collections
  • Share links to your images will stop working for other users
  • Your images will be hidden from other users' saved collections
  • You can turn this setting off at any time to restore visibility

Note: If you delete your account, AI-generated images may become eligible for featuring again as they are no longer linked to an active opt-out preference.

Third-Party Services

We use trusted third-party services to provide our application functionality. These services may have access to your information only to perform specific tasks on our behalf:

  • Convex - Database and backend services for storing your account and app data
  • fal.ai - AI image processing for generating design transformations
  • OpenAI - AI vision analysis for understanding room layouts and features
  • Cloudinary - Image storage and delivery

Each of these services has their own privacy policies governing their use of data. We encourage you to review their respective privacy policies.

Data Retention

We retain your personal information and user content for as long as your account is active. Your photos and generated images are stored indefinitely until you choose to delete them or delete your account.

When you delete specific content or your entire account, we will remove your data from our systems within a reasonable timeframe, except where we are required to retain certain information for legal or legitimate business purposes.

Your Rights and Choices

You have the right to:

  • Access - Request a copy of the personal information we hold about you
  • Delete - Delete individual photos, generated images, or your entire account
  • Correction - Update your account information at any time
  • Data Portability - Request your data in a portable format

Account Deletion

You may delete your account at any time through the app settings. When you delete your account:

  • Your account information will be permanently removed
  • All your uploaded photos will be deleted
  • Your saved spaces and preferences will be removed

AI-generated images may be retained for use as featured content within the app, as described in the Featured Content section above. This content remains anonymous and is not linked to your deleted account.

This process is irreversible. Some information may be retained in our backups for a limited period before being permanently deleted.

Data Security

We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, or destruction. However, no method of transmission over the Internet or electronic storage is 100% secure.

Children's Privacy

Novu is available to users of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you are a parent or guardian and believe your child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can take appropriate action.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by posting the new Privacy Policy on this page and updating the "Last updated" date. You are advised to review this Privacy Policy periodically for any changes.
